Rules for the granting of honorary patronage
RULES FOR THE GRANTING OF HONORARY PATRONAGE BY THE DIRECTOR OF THE STATISTICAL OFFICE IN KRAKOW AND FOR PARTICIPATION IN HONORARY COMMITTEES
Honorary patronage is a distinction highlighting the special nature of an initiative and its social, educational or scientific significance.
Honorary patronage may be granted to one-off or recurring events, such as competitions, conferences, anniversaries, festivals, sporting events, trade fairs, concerts, exhibitions, congresses, fairs or picnics of regional, national or international scope. The subject matter of the project should be related to the tasks carried out by the Statistical Office in Kraków, in particular in the following areas:
- statistical promotion and education,
- healthcare,
- social assistance,
- the social economy,
- culture,
- the labour market.
I. General Provisions
1. These Rules set out the conditions and procedure for the Director of the Statistical Office in Kraków, hereinafter referred to as the ‘Director’, to grant honorary patronage or participation in an honorary committee, hereinafter collectively referred to as ‘patronage’.
II. Specific Rules
- The Director grants patronage as a mark of recognition for initiatives thematically linked to the mission and tasks of public statistics and characterised by a high standard of substance and organisation.
- Patronage may only be granted to initiatives of provincial, national or international scope.
- Patronage is not granted to initiatives of a commercial nature.
- In the case of recurring events, the organiser is required to submit a separate application for patronage for each edition.
- The granting of patronage does not imply the provision of financial, material or organisational support by the Statistical Office in Kraków.
- Information regarding the granting of patronage is included in the ‘List of honorary patronages granted by the Director of the Statistical Office in Kraków and membership of honorary committees’, published on the Office’s website and in the Public Information Bulletin.
- Where patronage is granted, the organiser is obliged to:
- inform the co-organisers and participants of the event of the patronage granted;
- include information about the patronage on promotional and informational materials, as well as other materials related to the implementation of the event.
III. Procedure for granting patronage
- An application for patronage must be submitted by the organiser of the event no later than 60 days before its planned start date.
- The application form, which is attached to these Rules, is available on the website of the Statistical Office in Kraków.
- The application must be accompanied by the programme and the rules and regulations of the event.
- The application, together with the required attachments, must be sent to the following address:
Statistical Office in Kraków
ul. Kazimierza Wyki 3
31-223 Kraków
- Notification of the granting or refusal of patronage shall be provided to the organiser in writing within 30 days of the date of the date on which the complete application is submitted.
- There is no right of appeal against a decision to refuse patronage.
- In justified cases, the Director may withdraw patronage that has been granted or withdraw from the honorary committee. The organiser shall be informed of the decision in writing.
In addition, it is worth considering replacing the list of areas (education, health, culture, etc.) with a broader phrase such as ‘in particular’, so as not to limit the possibility of granting patronage to valuable initiatives related to official statistics but falling outside the specified fields.
