RULES FOR DATA DISSEMINATION

Official statistics ensure equal, simultaneous and equivalent access to statistical data for everyone.
Individual and personal data collected and gathered in official statistical surveys are subject to special protection. They are covered by statistical confidentiality, which means they cannot be shared or published – they are used exclusively for statistical compilations, tabulations and analyses, and for the creation of sampling frames for statistical surveys by the official statistics services.

  • Aggregated data also cannot be published or shared if it is possible to identify a specific person or business entity. In the case of individual data, this means that information characterising the economic performance of business units cannot be shared if less than 3 entities make up a given aggregation or if the share of one entity in a specific compilation exceeds 3/4 of the total.
  • Orders for unpublished data and for information from official registers are fulfilled for a fee. The basis for calculating the costs of data dissemination is the currently applicable "Price list for services provided by official statistics services".

SCOPE AND FORM OF DATA DISSEMINATION

The scope and form of dissemination of statistical information are defined by the Programme of Statistical Surveys of Official Statistics, approved annually by the Council of Ministers.
All other aggregations of statistical data – apart from those listed in the Programme – may be performed (subject to statistical confidentiality) upon a special request of the recipient for a fee.
Information is disseminated by the Information Centre in the form of:

  • publications (information, reports)
  • press releases and information published in the mass media
  • information provided directly, by telephone or via correspondence
  • paid orders fulfilled upon individual request
  • information published on the Internet
