Tasks of the Office
The Statistical Office in Szczecin is part of the official statistics services subordinate to Statistics Poland and operates on the basis of:
- the Act of 29 June 1995 on Official Statistics (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1799, as amended),
- Regulation No. 13 of the President of the Central Statistical Office (Statistics Poland) of 24 August 2012 on granting the statute to the Statistical Office in Szczecin (Official Journal of the Central Statistical Office, item 41, as amended),
- the Act of 21 November 2008 on Civil Service (Journal of Laws of 2026, item 590),
- the Organizational Regulations of the Office.
In accordance with the above-mentioned documents, the main tasks of the Statistical Office in Szczecin include:
- collecting, gathering, storing, and processing data for statistical surveys conducted by the President of Statistics Poland,
- organizing and conducting statistical surveys, including censuses,
- carrying out analyses and aggregate studies of data as well as resulting statistical information from surveys,
- providing and disseminating results of statistical information obtained in official statistical surveys, including basic figures and indicators,
- popularizing knowledge on statistics,
- maintaining national official registers within the area of the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodship:
- performing specialized nationwide tasks carried out for the benefit of official statistics covering, among others:
- developing methodological principles, conducting surveys, preparing statistical studies and analyses in the field of:
- science, technology, innovation, and information society statistics,
- maritime statistics,
- inland waterway transport statistics,
- transport and communications statistics,
- real estate market statistics,
- conducting design and programming work within the scope of the Office’s specialization,
- participating in international cooperation within the scope of the Office’s specialization,
- conducting work on the use of administrative data sources.
- developing methodological principles, conducting surveys, preparing statistical studies and analyses in the field of:
